The Shanghai Natural History Museum is a totally new facility with over 80,000 square feet of permanent exhibition space. The Museum will lead the way in educating the public on China’s vitally important relationship with the natural world and the issues that concern how that relationship affects their future. The storyline of the museum traces the evolution of the universe from the big bang, through the successive eras of geological change and the evolution of life to the present. Exhibits not only investigate how the everchanging physical conditions of the planet effects the diversity of life found here, but also explores how the natural environment gave shape to the early development of civilizations across the globe.
